The Fender Custom Shop 1950 features a lightweight ash body, delivering a classic Fender twang with sweet, airy tones. In addition, the Custom Shop's ash body is incredibly lightweight, allowing the player to throw themselves around the stage with ease and comfort. The Fender's ash body also delivers excellent resonance and sustain, offering firm lows, searing highs, and a scooped mid-range. As well as this, the Fender Custom Shop 1950 Double Esquire features a classic cutaway profile, which not only offers added aesthetic appeal but promotes the access to upper fingerboard shredding. Furthermore, the Fender Custom Shop 1950 is finished with a black pickguard, a Nocaster Blonde NOS flash coat lacquer, chrome hardware, and vintage style tuning machines for a truly retro appearance.
The guitar's solid maple neck and fingerboard provides the Custom Shop 1950 Double Esquire with bright characteristics, tightening up the guitar's overall sound and giving it plenty of cut. Additionally, maple delivers a powerfully sharp punch when the strings are hit hard, whilst still retaining its clarity to allow each note to sing. The neck and fingerboard also work together to provide the guitar with sizzling highs and firm lows, while its mid-range features a snappy attack. Furthermore, the Fender Custom Shop 1950 features medium vintage frets for an authentic look and feel while its rift-sawn V shaped neck provides the player with incredibly easy and comfortable playability.
The Fender Custom Shop 1950 Double Esquire features a pair of custom hand-wound '50-'51 blackguard pickups within the neck and bridge position. This sonically pleasing pair of pickups project that classic Tele tone and twang, perfect for the player craving a richly-authentic sound. Additionally, the classic pairing of pickups adds that signature sound to live performances, while blending a 50's design with modern electronics to achieve excellent clarity and bite. Furthermore, the Custom Shop hand-wound pickups also provide the player with the authentic sound and feel of a vintage 50s Telecaster, perfect for rock, blues and country.
The Telecaster incorporates a string-thru body construction to provide improved tonality and sustain by transferring vibrations and resonance from the strings to the body. Additionally, the vintage style bridge features threaded saddles that keep the strings stable, allowing the guitar to be played harder without it going out of tune.
Featuring a carefully fitted bone nut, the Double Esquire delivers an increased resonance and bright tonality. When compared to traditional plastic and Tusq materials used to construct guitar nuts, synthetic bone improves the vibration transfer between the string and tuning machines without dampening the tone.
