8 String Guitars take the 7 String design a step further, adding yet another extension to the range of the instrument. Inspired by Swedish death metal band Meshuggah and their genre shaping djent style, the two lower strings with their dropped pitch allow for thundering almost bass-like riffs and chords, ideal for all heavy rock and metal guitar playing styles.

8 Strings can be tuned in numerous ways offering great versatility in technique and even genre, with some progressive jazz guitarists using hybrid versions to combine both a bass and guitar on a single neck.
