To ensure that your new clarinet lasts a lifetime, the Prodige is made from a co-polymeric ABS instead of wood. The issue with wooden clarinets, especially models made from Grenadilla wood, is that you have to be careful what environment you play them in. Due to their organic nature, sudden humidity or temperature changes can result in the wood cracking - which is an expensive fix! You won't have any of that with the Prodige clarinet. The ABS is unaffected by environmental factors, making them nearly maintenance-free.
Just like every Buffet product, the Prodige receives the same amount of care and attention that it deserves. Buffet's skilled artisans are responsible for moulding and drilling the bore of the Prodige in the same factory in France which they make all of Buffet's instruments. This way they can guarantee consistency to ensure you get the possible product.
The Buffet Prodige clarinet has a simple design featuring the standard 17 keys and 6 rings. All tone holes have been undercut and combined with leather pads, creating a great seal with better intonation and tonal character. All keywork is silver plated, which is long-lasting and ergonomic - allowing ease of play for student players. This combined with an adjustable thumb rest, makes the Prodige very nice to play. Even the bell has been developed to optimise projection.

On the outside of the case, you will find the strong zipper, a robust handle, and padded backpack straps for ensure comfort. For an extra touch of protection, the inside is lined with a soft-touch material that won't scratch your instrument.
