What is Shure PSM?
Shure PSM is Shure's personal monitoring system range. PSM Systems have a “Mix-Mode” setting that allows two performers to share a system and mix. With the PSM range, each member can have their own individual mix, ensuring a clear and crisp mix every time.
What is the need for an in-ear monitory system?
In-ear monitoring allows a performer to take their performance to the next level. On-stage sound can be hard to control. Depending on where you stand on stage will affect what you hear, and if the guitarist has turned their amp up you'll be flooded with onstage sound. In-ear monitors reduce onstage sound and let you hear exactly what you want. As well as providing excellent sound, most earphones for in-ear systems are isolated and can protect your ears from high sound pressure levels.
Can in-ear monitors damage your ears?
Prolonged exposure to high sound pressure levels can damage your hearing over time. Most good quality in-ear systems offer an isolated earphone that blocks out the outside sound. However, in-ear monitors are capable of high sound pressure levels and could cause damage to your hearing if used irresponsibly. Just like everyday earphones, as long as you listen at safe volumes you'll be fine.
