This guitar’s body is crafted from mahogany with a maple cap, and designed with comfortable contours to provide players with the best playing experience. The mahogany tonewood delivers a soft tone, with plenty of grind and bite to keep it well-balanced and create plenty of depth. The guitar’s appealing high end and full, tight low end ensures the overall tonality remains thick and firm, offering plenty of dynamics to accommodate a variety of musical styles.
Maple Neck, Pau Ferro Fingerboard
The LTD H-408B Guitar features a 3pc maple neck with a pau ferro fingerboard to deliver warm, bright tones. The maple offers roundness to the tone, providing bright characteristics and an excellent amount of sustain. Its thin U-shaped profile is perfect for speed demons, allowing players to easily reach across the entire fingerboard without losing any comfort. The pau ferro fingerboard infuses the tone with extra sweetness, smoothing it out and furring up the harsh edges of the maple. The maple and pau ferro combination creates a sparkling, sizzling high-end, an open midrange with a snappy attack, and a thick, firm low-end.
Seymour Duncan JB & 59 Humbuckers
The set of Seymour Duncan provides this ESP LTD with strong tones and plenty of dynamics to accommodate even the harshest playing styles. Set in the bridge position is the Seymour Duncan JB, a truly modern classic pickup known for its incredible hot-rodded design which makes it ideal for any music genre. Its hot output pushes amps for extra sustain and harmonics, creating a tone saturated in full, powerful lows, crisp, detailed highs, and an upper mid bump which adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords. The neck position sports the Seymour Duncan 59, a vintage-voiced humbucker designed to offer versatile tones and a sweet sustain. Selecting this pickup with load the guitar with full lows, boosted highs, and a smooth, open midrange to deliver full sounding chords and a clear, bright attack.
Baritone Scale Length
Featuring a 27-inch scale length as appose to traditional 24.75, 25, and 25.5 inch scale lengths, the LTD H-408B Guitar provides players with baritone capabilities ideal for a range of technical playing styles. Due to the longer scale length, the ESP can be tuned to a range of low tunings such as standard tuning (F#,B,E,A,D,G,B,E), or fourth tuning (F#,B,E,A,D,G,C,F) particularly favourable with heavy metal players requiring a low and deep tone.
