So, what is Beauty of the Burst? Well, apart from being jaw-droppingly beautiful, it refers to a collection of ’58 to ’60 Les Pauls that feature in a book named “The Beauty of the Burst”. Each page contains a unique guitar, and this is Gibson’s recreation of Page 84.

And because it’s the Custom Shop, it’s not a simply a remake of that timeless Les Paul, it’s a ground up rebirth, using period-correct methods and hand selected components to draw out the looks, performance and tone of this hallowed instrument.

Sporting a pair of meticulously constructed and tuned CustomBuckers, the ’59 Les Paul Standard boasts a performance that’s rounded, articulate and bursting with sustain. This clarity extends to overdriven sounds, where it becomes ferocious and impactful, yet still totally clear in each note.

The bridge position humbucker offers that classic rhythm tone which is perfect for a rich, full-bodied sound. Chords will shine, with each note springing to life. Switch to the neck for some high gain lead excitement or to make chords thicker and warmer on clean settings. Also a Custombucker, it brings your licks to life with a fullness and fatness which will leave your jaw wide open.
