Triple P90 versatility
The Kingbolt 390 is fitted with three Reverend Steelhead P90 pickups, each specifically voiced for its position to provide balanced output and exceptional tonal consistency. Oversized steel pole pieces and a powerful magnetic field deliver impressive clarity, strong harmonics, and explosive pick attack while preserving the unmistakable character that has made P90 pickups favourites for decades. The five-way selector is joined by Reverend's Studio Switch, unlocking seven pickup combinations, including neck-and-bridge and all three pickups together, giving you an enormous palette of tones ranging from sparkling cleans to aggressive overdriven sounds.
Comfortable design with lively resonance
A lightweight korina body provides the balanced response, rich harmonics, and natural sustain that define Reverend guitars. The slimmer body shape and sculpted cutaways improve comfort while allowing unrestricted access to the upper frets for expressive lead playing. Reverend's thin UV-cured finish lets the wood resonate more freely than heavier finishes, producing a lively, responsive feel that rewards every nuance of your playing. A roasted maple neck further enhances stability, reducing seasonal movement while providing a smooth, comfortable playing experience.
Reliable tremolo performance
The Wilkinson WVS50 IIK tremolo delivers expressive vibrato while maintaining excellent tuning stability thanks to locking saddles, adjustable arm tension, and a push-in arm with no free play. Reverend's innovative Vari-Claw system allows quick adjustment between firmer and softer tremolo feels with minimal effort, making it easy to tailor the bridge response to your preferences. Pin-Lock tuners, a Boneite nut, the Triple-Tree string tree, and a six-bolt neck plate all contribute to dependable tuning stability, increased sustain, and long-term reliability.
Engineered for dependable performance
Every element of the Kingbolt 390 has been designed with practical performance in mind. The Bass Contour control allows you to tighten the low end or create brighter pickup voices, greatly expanding the instrument's tonal flexibility without adding unnecessary complexity. Premium Alpha control pots, polyester capacitors, a Pure Tone output jack, reinforced steel jack plate, and a treble bleed circuit ensure consistent operation and outstanding clarity throughout the control range. Each guitar is hand-initialled and serial numbered by the technician responsible for its final inspection and setup, reflecting Reverend's commitment to quality craftsmanship.
