The 4ms Ensemble Oscillator is a unified polyphonic voice of 16 complex oscillators combining additive, FM, phase-distortion and wavefolding synthesis techniques in new unorthodox ways. The Ensemble oscillator empowers you with an abundance of unique sonic textures by quantising the oscillators to scales or a series of harmonics. These range from rich chords to evolving ultra-musical textures.

Take your sounds into the unknown with the 4MS Ensemble Oscillator. The module features a variety of effects, allowing you to manipulate your sounds beyond recognition. This includes two types of distortion (twist phase and warp wave). By applying distortion you'll be introducing rich harmonics and subtle compression into your signal flow. This is ideal for adding an increased sense of urgency and excitement to your sound.
You are also provided with three algorithms of Cross FM synthesis. This handy technique enables you to create inspiring tones by combining the spectral envelope of one of your patches on top of another. The end result is innovative tonal blends that will be unique to you. Stand out from the crowd with the Ensemble Oscillator.

- 16 sine-based oscillators bound to intervals of a selected Scale
- 30 factory-programmed, user-writeable scales organized in three groups:
- 12TET: all notes quantized to equal temperament, repeating over octaves
- Octave: unquantized notes, repeating over octaves
- Free: unquantized notes, repeating over the interval between the lowest and highest note
- A simple method to program (“Learn”) your own scales manually or with a CV/Gate keyboard
- Three Twist phase distortion effects
- Three Warp wave distortion effects
- Three algorithms of Cross FM for modulating the oscillators with each other
- Mono or stereo output with selectable panning algorithm
- Freeze button and jack to freeze the frequency of some of the oscillators, with selectable algorithm
- Two 1V/oct inputs: Pitch (non-quantized), and Root (quantized)
