In-depth granular processing

Building on the success and design of the Cloud module from Mutable Instruments, Beads takes granular processing to the next level. It features the same form factor as the Rings module for a familiar layout with an ergonomic panel with precise controls. The expanded sound palette provides improved control over your signals, allowing you to get in-depth with your sound design. The redesigned hardware and software features refined controls that respond differently to the Clouds module, unlocking new possibilities such as reverse playback or percussive envelopes.

Improved, refined and enhanced

Beads’ features vastly improved specs compared to the Clouds module including optimised audio fidelity, a longer buffer, improved interpolation and upgraded anti-aliasing algorithms. The key DSP blocks also run at a faster rate for added flexibility. You can now journey into new territories as unlocks new sounds such as formants and hard-sync-like sound.

The large Density, Speed and Time controls allow you to dial in your parameters with extreme precision. They also unlock new functions such as the ability to time-stretch, beat-slice, comb-filter and much more.

Add a little Chaos, Character and Control

Three new functions are introduced in the form of Chaos, Character and Control parameters.

Control allows you to trigger and schedule grains which is great for live-performances and music production. From here, you can spray bursts of grains in response to a gate, or get the grain rate to track a V/O CV or the frequency of an external oscillator.

Chaos is perfect for generating inspiration and creating new ideas for sound design. Each key parameter of a grain is equipped with its own attenurandomizer. This allows you to directly control CV signals and randomization of CV control.

Character gives you access to four different audio quality settings, allowing you to change more than just the buffer sample rate and bit-depth. The various settings will change the clock of the converters, the saturation and amplitude of a signal, the reverb tone and much more. This feature is great for creating lo-fi sounds and adding unique effects to your signal.
