The SMC 2BM is the older sibling of the Tube-Tech SMC 2B Multiband Compressor. It has the exact same design with a few tweaks designed to optimise your mastering abilities. The SMC 2BM features premium-grade switches comprised of precision resistors. This helps to deliver extreme accuracy when it comes to changing settings and recalls. This gives you unprecedented access of your frequency bands, allowing you to zone in on certain frequencies for a cleaner and more concise mastering experience.

World's Only Tube-Based Multiband Compressor

The SMC 2BM Stereo Multiband Compressor is the world's first tube-based multiband compressor. This highly unique design boasts three independent stereo optical compressors as well as 3-band level control. The compressor features six tube diodes in total, comprised of: four ECC 81s, two ECC 82s and two ECC 83s. These high-end tubes deliver the classic tube warmth that is so sought-after in the professional audio world. Each channel features three bands with individual level control and variable crossover frequencies. The variable crossover controls provide extreme accuracy when it comes to changing the levels of your three bands. It delivers a unique yet clean sound with a flat frequency response, with a touch of colour and dynamics that truly brings out of the best from your source material.

Comprehensive 3-Band Control

The comprehensive control panel features 3-band level control on each channel. This allows you to take in-depth control of each frequency band with extreme accuracy. Each channel features six potentiometers comprised of: Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release and Gain (dB). There are two additional pots for the X-Over High and X-Over Low controls. This allows you to optimise the summing of the three bands, providing a flat frequency response when the gain controls of each band are set at the same level. This gives you in-depth control over ever detail and aspect of your sound, delivering extreme precision.

Vintage Design & Versatile Connectivity

The robust all-metal chassis features built-in rack ears designed for mounting with a studio or live rack. The vintage-style design features retro components such as classic conductive plastic potentiometers. Also included are gold-plated switches as well as a retro-style LED display showing compression levels. The clickless in/out relay helps to optimise performance, ensuring you do not incur any unwanted noise from the integrated connections. The inputs and outputs are both transformer balanced and fully floating, with low distortion optical gain reduction elements for optimised audio fidelity.
