Multitrack Backing

The Merish5 range utilises a unique file format called MTA, or Multitrack Audio. MTA files for a wide range of songs can be downloaded from M-Live's www.songservice.it under the Multitrack tab. Layering a series of MP3 files for each instrument in a backing track, which can be controlled independently. That means you can take out guitars, for example, and play them yourself instead, whilst keeping the rest of the backing track intact. Or whilst performing with a larger band, you can remove more instruments to make space for everyone playing with you. It also allows for a lot of editing potential, letting you write and synchronise lyrics and chords to stay visible on Merish5+'s display, or sent wirelessly to you and your bandmates' smartphones or tablets as you play. You can even change the tones, with over 500 different timbres available to swap out sounds you don't like for ones you do, as well as 50 different drum kits and hundreds of other percussion sounds to shape your accompaniment.

MIDI Controlled Playback

To make sure that your performance goes exactly the way you need it to, the Merish5+ can be controlled via a MIDI keyboard, making it easy to trigger video, MIDI files, and backing tracks exactly when you need to. In addition to M-Live's MTA format, the Merish5+ is also compatible with MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, AIF, and AU audio files, so whatever you have available can be triggered at the perfect moment so your set never loses momentum.

Comprehensive Mixing and Recording

The Merish5+ also offers a 7-channel digital mixer with two microphone inputs, and two line inputs for vocals and instruments, and a playback channel for the backing tracks. It also provides a range of outputs for not just audio, but a dedicated click track output, as well as monitor and headphones. All rounded out by three-band EQ and multi-effects like reverb, delay, compression and noise gates, that can be applied to mic inputs and backing tracks alike. There's even a 4-voice vocal harmoniser to layer your vocals with. Plus, it's digital recording functionality captures your performances, so you can rehearse with your recordings, release your live shows, or make promotional material with them.
