The annular line tube technology ensures the best possible audio clarity, delivering natural, uncoloured sound. Replacing the linear slots found in conventional shotgun mics, the VideoMic NTG utilises circular acoustic ports. This groundbreaking design is the product of months of intensive acoustic testing, incorporating design aspects from Rode’s TF5 condenser microphone.

The TF5 featured a unique perforated acoustic vent, which led Rode to incorporate this feature onto the VideoMic NTG microphone. The resulting sound is transparent and uncoloured, providing stunning sonic clarity unmatched by other shotgun mics.

Built-in Lithium-ion battery provides 30+ hours of use

Always capture the action. The VideoMic NTG features a built-in lithium-ion battery which provides up to 30+ of recording. The high-grade battery is perfect for filmmakers and videographers on the move, providing more than enough time and power to capture the perfect shot. Utilising the latest USB-C connectivity, the VideoMic NTG can be fully charged within two hours. This means you can continuously record using a power pack for added flexibility.

Maximise your sound

Jam-packed with features, the VideoMic NTG includes a built-in high-pass filter, high-frequency boost, switchable pad and a switchable safety channel. The digital switching controls all of these features. The high-pass filter allows you to toggle between 75Hz or 150Hz settings, perfect for minimising low-end noise such as traffic or wind. The high-frequency boost is great for providing enhanced detail and clarity – ideal for use with the furry windshield. The switchable pad provides a -20dB setting for recording loud sound sources and ensuring a distortion-free take. Lastly, the switchable safety channel will capture a second recording at -20dB just in case the main channel clips.

Monitor your sound with optimal accuracy

Monitor with precision. The VideoMic NTG also possesses a USB-C output, which enables the VideoMic NTG to double up as a fully-featured USB microphone. The class-compliant output allows you to plug the microphone directly into a computer, tablet or smartphone. From here you can use the microphone as a studio-quality USB mic, ideal for gaming, podcasts, voiceovers and livestreaming. In addition to the USB output, you can use the 3.5mm jack as a headphone output, perfect for seamless monitoring whilst using the USB output.

Rycote Lyre shockmount

With a Rycote Lyre based shock mount, the VideoMic NTG minimises contact between the microphone and mounting system to diffuse any unwanted rumble and vibrations being transferred from the device. Constructed from hard wearing thermoplastic the Lyre delivers advanced isolation and improved suspension as appose to traditional elastic mounting systems.
