HALion 7 sits at the centre of Absolute 7, providing a powerful platform for sampling, synthesis, instrument creation, and detailed sound editing. It gives you plenty of scope to move beyond presets and shape sounds around your production. Absolute also extends its synthesis capabilities with tools such as Carrier8, an expansion for FM Lab featuring 100 sounds created by sound designer Stéphane Garganigo. Its leads, basslines, and evolving pads put HALion’s FM engine to work on sounds geared towards contemporary pop and electronic production, while the wider collection gives you thousands of presets when you need to work quickly.
Absolute 7 covers both realistic kits and more processed rhythm design. Groove Agent 6 provides a resizable beat-making environment with 47 newly sampled acoustic kit pieces, the acoustic Punch Kit, and 25 Beat Agent kits from the Colour Punch set. For more experimental work, Backbone and its Fractured expansion combine sampled analogue and digital drum machines with noises, clicks, guitar sounds, and other unusual sources. That gives you plenty of room for distorted hits, abstract textures, and energetic rhythms. Backbone also supports AI-powered drum sound design, adding another route for developing fresh percussion.
