Building on the success of the OD505 vocal microphone, the OD5 inherits the same active dynamic circuit, providing optimised signal integrity. The versatility of the circuit makes it ideal for a range of recording applications from guitar amps to front-facing wind instruments and drums. The active dynamic capsule is handmade in Vienna, manufactured to meticulous standards to ensure the highest quality audio performance. The rich and transparent sound ensures longer-cable runs will not degrade your signal quality.

Onboard high-pass filter and -10dB pad

Building on the success of previous OC-series models, Austrian Audio has incorporated the same principles that made its siblings so sought after. In addition to the innovative swivel joint design; the OD5 also features onboard attenuation so you can adjust the overall sound of the microphone. The onboard filter provides you with two different settings to choose from. Setting the filter to 80Hz, the OD5 will apply a CAB (Cut and Boost) filter which is useful when recording guitar amps and other high-level sound sources. There is a second position at 120Hz which can be used as a standard 2nd order high-pass filter, which is great for removing unwanted low-end rumble.
