Key Features
The Haken Audio CVC Control Voltage Converter allows you to fully exploit the fast data rates and ranges of the Continuum. The Control Voltage Converter enables you to convert the polyphonic X (pitch), Y (front-back), and Z (pressure) outputs of the Continuum, to a total of 16 continuous control voltages and gates. This allows the Continuum to interface with analogue synthesizer systems. Specifically made for the Continuum, the Haken Audio CVC connects directly to the Continuum, avoiding MIDI altogether. Featuring ultra-fast communication, the CVC communicates directly with the Continuum, much faster than MIDI would, providing you with the best possible response time and accuracy.

The Haken Audio CVC is built specifically for the Continuum fingerboard. Using CVC over MIDI when combining the Continuum with software synths or analogue synths, results in a much quicker response time. If you were to use MIDI data, there would be a slight delay resulting in a different feel when playing software synths. It is possible to control analogue synths using the Continuum with a standard MIDI-CV converter. However, it is hard to set up everything optimally for the Continuum to work perfectly and accurately. Many problems emerged when using the MIDI-CV converter, hence why the CVC was created. The CVC is perfected for the Continuum, offering you an easy and seamless set up experience. It allows you to concentrate on your Continuum playing technique and sound patches, rather than spending time and effort on configuring MIDI-CV.
The CVC requires no external filters for noise suppression. The Continuum updates parameters at a much faster rate than a standard keyboard, so fast in fact that the finger pressure update rate can make an audible pitch on a standard MIDI-CV require external filtering.
The Haken Audio CVC allows a Continuum performance to be captured and played back from a MIDI sequencer into the CVC. This allows the CVC to output signal originating from data fed to the Continuum’s MIDI input.
Depending on your analogue synth, you will have particular preferences for voltage ranges of each output on your CVC. The CVC allows you to switch between different voltage set ups at any time through special interaction with the Continuum playing surface, or the Continuum editor. The Continuum editor also allows you to create custom setups that work for you.
