The smart:gate plug-in features a visualizer that specifically tracks the level of the identified target signal, not the entire input, simplifying and accelerating the parameterization process. Its 'Instant Replay' feature, unique to Sonible, adjusts the visualized signal both retrospectively and prospectively when a parameter is altered, providing a predictive view of the overall signal impact. The Level Bias feature allows the gating behaviour to closely follow the detected signal, ideal for refining transient responses like drums or maintaining the natural sound of non-transient elements like vocals. If desired, smart:gate can function as a standard gate, sidelining its AI-based content-aware capabilities. The 'Impact control' further customizes the gating response by moderating the gain reduction applied when the gate is closed. Additionally, smart:gate features a Ducking mode that diminishes the target signal instead of letting it pass through. A three-band suppression network aids in balancing the gating effect across the frequency spectrum, making smart:gate a versatile tool for sound production.
